Focus on Your Future Week 2016 is taking place 6 – 10 June.
The week of jobs, employer networking events and expert advice sessions is organised by Careers and Employability to help 2016 graduates to prepare for life and after graduation and support them with securing their first graduate-level role.
There will be workshops running each morning, covering a range of employability topics, plus a ‘Careers & Cake’ afternoon on the Monday and Wednesday where students can receive tailored one-to-one advice on a drop-in basis.
We also have two Employer Networking Cafés running as part of the week: on Tuesday afternoon employers with graduate jobs will be on campus and on Thursday afternoon those with internship opportunities will be present.
Students will see benefit in attending whether they are confident in their career goals or have no idea what to do next. This could be their last chance to take advantage of the support on offer to them before they leave campus.
Students should register to:
- Meet employers recruiting for graduate jobs and internships
- Learn how to sell themselves to employers, from winning CVs and social media through to impressing at interview
- Explore the options available to them after graduation
Although the week is predominantly aimed at those graduating in 2016, all Manchester Met students are welcome to attend.
Please share details of Focus on Your Future Week with your students, particularly those who are graduating this year, and encourage them to register. Students can do this and find the full programme of events at www.mmu.ac.uk/futureweek.
