Try insect sushi with MetMUnch

The Insect Sushi Bar at Science In The City – Late
Wednesday 27th July
Museum of Science and Industry
7:00 PM10:30 PM

Following the record-breaking success of last October’s Cravings: Late event, Manchester Metropolitan University’s MetMUnch have once again teamed up with the Museum of Science and Industry to provide a feast for your senses and imagination at our one-night-only Insect Sushi Bar.

MetMUnch’s team of insect itamae – specialist sushi chefs – will cook up a creepy crawly cornucopia. Try the fresh sushi and hear MetMUnch’s nutritional scientists reveal why insects are becoming the most buzzed-about delicacy of the moment. Find out how insects are already eaten across the globe, their high nutritional benefit, excellent sustainability credentials, and growing availability as meat prices soar.

MetMUnch will also have bowls of a variety of raw insects for anyone who dares try them, giving you the chance to sample a real food of the future. Now you can bug your friends about how you ate insects before they start to fly off the shelves!

This event is part of the Science in the City Festival, 22-29 July 2016. Read more about Manchester Met’s involvement with the festival here.
