As of Monday 25 July, Higher Cambridge Street will be closed to traffic for a period of up to three weeks at its junction with Booth Street West.
The closure – which will extend around 50 metres from the junction – has been arranged by United Utilities in relation to essential works on the hotel development taking place at the University of Manchester.
The timing of the closure has been stipulated by Manchester City Council to coincide with the school holiday period when there is less traffic, and a reduced level of risk as deep excavations are involved as part of the work.
This closure has led to temporary bus diversions. Services affected are:
44 MCT Manchester – Manchester Airport
101 SC Manchester – Wythenshawe
104 SC Manchester – Wythenshawe
105 SC Manchester – Manchester Airport
109 SC Manchester – Wythenshawe Hospital
The above services are affected in both directions.
Staff may wish to allow more time for their journeys during the period of the closure.
