SPECIAL TRAINING ON RESPONDING TO DISCLOSURES OF SEXUAL ASSAULT/HARASSMENT

IN RESPONSE to issues raised through our Gender Staff Forum, colleagues are putting together another half-day training package, aimed at any staff who have student contact.

Our aim is to provide attendees with some skills and knowledge to enable them to respond well, if a student discloses experiences of abuse, assault, domestic violence, or other forms of harassment related to gender.

We are aware from research conducted by the Students’ Union nationally, that there is a high incidence of abuse among student groups. We are also aware that hearing about rape, assault and abuse can be quite shocking, for staff members.

Our half-day training is participative and informal and there are some places available on the course on Tuesday 16th August from 1pm – 4.30pm.

Please book via the Training module on MyHR or contact Sarah May: s.may@mmu.ac.uk for more information.
