THE International Office has developed a Mandarin language website to support student recruitment in China.
The new website, which is fully responsive across mobile, tablet and desktop browsing, is central to the development of a China-specific recruitment campaign, which includes the use of popular Chinese social media channels – WeChat and Weibo.
The key messages which run through the new website focus on student life, employability and what the city of Manchester has to offer, matching important decision making factors for Chinese students.
Stephen Parkin, Director of the International Office, commented: “This Mandarin language website has been developed because all key digital platforms that we use for our global marketing are prohibited in China. In addition, we need to influence the many Chinese parents who do not speak English.
“Both our recruitment team here in the UK and our China Office are excited by the prospect of using the new website to better engage with prospective Chinese students.”
