Dr Magnus Josefsson wins second prize for his doctoral thesis

THE European Doctoral Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA) has awarded Dr Magnus Josefsson, research associate at the Manchester Metropolitan Business School’s Centre for Policy Modelling, with second prize in the 2016 EDAMBA thesis competition for his work titled ‘Social Foundations of Sense Making: Four Case Studies’.

In his thesis, Magnus considers how creative knowledge intensive organisations that operate almost entirely on the Internet, create a sense of place and strategic options in a highly transient environment.

His work is yet another example of successful research collaboration between Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and regional enterprises. Magnus’s findings will be presented at EDAMBA on August 22 at the University of Kent and at the annual conference of the British Academy of Management (BAM 2016) in September in Newcastle.
