On the 4th September, 61 Residential Advisors arrived at our Cheshire Campus for a residential training week.
The week was facilitated by the Residential Life team of Res Life Manager and Coordinators, Adam Rothwell, Jess Clark and Pauline Holland, supported by Res Life Intern Matthew Bridge.
The success of the week was strongly supported by Learning and Development Specialist, Paul Walsh, who assisted with the planning and delivery of the week’s agenda. The team were also supported by Rachel Beckett, Rachel Treece, Craig Thompson, Sade Philip, Ben Thompson, Tracy Banham, and Christopher Heeley – not to mention the Catering staff at Cheshire who provided all meals throughout the week.
The Residential Advisors gained an understanding through the week about the skills, knowledge and challenges of the RA role, student support, RA support, team building and all the skills they need to undertake their role.
The RAs will be offering pastoral, engagement, and respectful community living for students living within Manchester Metropolitan halls of residence and leased halls of residence. The week was full of training, learning and team building – an exceedingly successful week of RA Training ready for the new year!
