Hospitality Business Management Students given insight into top jobs

Hospitality Business Management Students given rare insight into top jobs with welcome week industry conference.

The Hospitality Business Management Degree has kicked off the academic year with an industry conference, to introduce new and returning students to some of the big names in food and hospitality management.

The aim of this conference is to engage the students early on with the practical nature of the degree, and give them an insight into the working lives of some of the industry’s top professionals.

The morning conference is a yearly feature, and in 2016, it was hosted at, number 70 Oxford Road, formerly the Cornerhouse.

Amanda White, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for BA (Hons) Hospitality Business Management welcomed the students and introduced a packed programme of speakers. These included Peter Ducker, Chief Executive of the Institute of Hospitality and TV Food Chef and founder of Mowgli Street Food, Nisha Katona.

Amanda went on to give an overview of the Student Award and passed over to Lecturer in Hospitality Management Stewart Morrell for some information about the Paris Field Trip, and optional extra for the course participants in their first year.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the students beginning their Hospitality Business Management Degree, and wish them all the best for the upcoming academic year.
