Congratulations to Professor Janice Murray, from the Department of Health Professions, who has received a Fellowship from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

Thank you all so much to everyone who participated in the Macmillan Coffee Morning!

We had a great range of cakes and bakes, all of which went down a treat.bake-sale-img_3104

We managed to raise a brilliant £500 this year, so I just wanted to thank everyone for their
generosity – whether that be through baking or by donating.

You’ve all made a real difference.

Again, thank you all so much to everyone who helped out on the day, and to everyone who donated. I think we can safely say that it was a roaring success!

Kind regards,

Amy Nash, Executive Assistant for Marketing, Operations and Digital Business

Professor of Poetry Michael Symmons Roberts features in a BBC Two programme in which six poets travel in WH Auden’s footsteps capturing, in verse, the human stories of those on board the west coast main line. Uncovering stories of love, loss and longing, their poems will ask who we are today through the journeys we make.

Railway Nation: a Journey in Verse is available here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07yc9mq

Other poets taking part in the ‘relay’ include Sabrina Mahfouz, Liz Berry, Andrew McMilla and Imtiaz Dharker. Sean O’Brien has composed a new poem that links the journey together, spoken by Maxine Peake.
