Open Days success: 17,000 visitors

The Manchester autumn 2016 open days were very well attended this year with nearly 7,000 potential students (around 17,000 total visitors) across the two events, an increase of 14% on the attendance last year. We benefitted though having moved our events a week forward, avoiding the clash with half terms, and being lucky to have bright autumn weather.

On Saturday 8th we had the added challenge of a clash of open day events with the University of Manchester. We had carefully prepared for this clash over the last year working closely with UoM to ensure all logistical concerns were addressed.  The event was well received and our new park and ride was a success, with over 2,000 visitors using the service in Sport City. A high number of our visitors were attending visit days at UoM, Liverpool University and University of Leeds, in addition to our event.

So far our open day visitor survey has indicators that our visitors had a positive experience with 94.4% of visitors very satisfied/satisfied with the event, with the majority of visitors rating our Open Day as better or much better than others they have visited so far. 88.7% of visitors went on to say they would be very likely or likely to apply to us following attending the Open Day.

The Recruitment and Admissions team would like to thank all the staff that supported across the two events to make the events successful.

The next Manchester open day is taking place on Saturday 26th November 2016.
