Games Research Network

The Games Research Network brings together a collection of gaming enthusiasts from across the University, who aside from enjoying games (both analogue and digital) are also interested in taking them as an object of study.

Set up by Dr Sam Illingworth, Senior Lecturer in Science Communication, and Paul Wake, Reader in the Department of English, the purpose of the network is to investigate a number of academic questions – including identity, gender, narrative and competition – in the context of digital and analogue games. Gaming is very much in the public zeitgeist given the current popularity of both digital and analogue games, and in particular tabletop games.
