Open Call: Exhibition runs – 12th January – 27th January
To start in 2017, Manchester School of Art is happy to announce our open call for ‘Legacy’ exhibition which will feature a range of alumni.
The aim of the exhibition is to create a platform to showcase the evolution of Art & Design practice through the School’s more recent Alumni and illuminate life beyond graduation.
The exhibition will take place in the Benzie Vertical Gallery on the Ground, First, Second and Third floors. Opened only a few years ago, the transformation of the School has received much attention in the fields of Architecture & Design, with the Benzie Building being nominated for the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize.
The vision for the new Art School building is to allow visibility of all taught disciplines and allow a much more flexible and organic approach to interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration. Through this model a greater understanding and informed respect of other practice cultures has formed. Legacy aims to mirror this vision and celebrate our past student’s achievements.
As well as welcoming proposals from all disciplines to better represent the diverse range of practices that have emerged, we welcome proposals that are site specific and exploit the space. Whether alumni graduated this year or 50+ years ago, all are welcome to feed in to the exhibition.
If alumni are interested, they can send proposals to; firstname.lastname@example.org by the 23rd December 2016 – Midnight. The show will run from 12th January – 27th January, with install starting on 9th January.
If you have any questions or for an information pack about the space and a more in depth timeline, please email email@example.com.
