- Do you have a commitment to equal opportunities for all staff at Manchester Met?
- Do you have the energy and drive to represent your colleagues?
If you think you can answer ‘yes’ to these questions, then we want to hear from you!
Manchester Met University has four Staff Equality Fora – Race Staff Forum, Gender Staff Forum, Disabled Staff Forum and the LGBT Staff Forum. These groups are inclusive, are open to all staff, and are sub-committees of Manchester Met’s Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
We are on the lookout for a new Disabled Staff Forum (DSF) Co-chair who can make a real and positive contribution to progressing the equality and diversity agenda for all staff at Manchester Met.
Co-Chairing the group will provide you with lots of experience of chairing a formal University Committee and will help to develop your leadership skills and capability. You will not be alone in this position as you will share the responsibility with your fellow Co-Chair and there will be lots of regular support and guidance from the Equality and Diversity Team.
If you think you have what it takes to become an elected Co-Chair of the DSF, then please write a short paragraph (no more than 200 words) about how you would contribute or what you would bring to the role. The nomination period opens on Monday 19th December 2016 and closes on Monday 9th January 2017 at 4:30pm. You can either email your nomination to email@example.com, or send it in a sealed envelope to the: Equality and Diversity Coordinator, Room 621, All Saints Building.
When will the ballot take place?
The ballot will take place between Monday 16th January and Friday 27th January and the Co-Chair will be announced on Tuesday 31st January.
If you would like to speak to any of the current Chairs of the Equality Fora before you make a decision, please contact the E&D team for their details on firstname.lastname@example.org or ext 6494.
Co-Chair Terms of Reference are available on request.
