STAFF EQUALITY FORA – MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The University’s four staff equality fora are well-established sub committees of the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee. The fora provide a conduit for staff to feedback on equality and diversity related issues and make a vital input to University decision making.

Manchester Met has the following fora and the dates for the next meeting are as follows:

  • Race Staff Forum: Monday 30th January 2017, 1pm-3pm in Sandra Burslem, 3.01
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) Staff Forum: Friday 3rd February 2017, 2pm-4pm in Geoffrey Manton, 335
  • Gender Staff Forum: Tuesday 14th February, 2pm-4pm, in Geoffrey Manton, 335
  • Disabled Staff Forum: Tuesday 7th February 2017, 2pm-4pm, in Sandra Burslem, G.05

All fora are inclusive and staff can join if they have an interest in the area.

It is vital that fora meetings are well attended so that we can be sure that the views gathered are representative of staff in different roles and grades and that staff across the whole institution are able to contribute to decision-making processes.

Please try to attend, but make sure that you inform your line manager first. You are welcome to attend the meetings for as long as you are able and do not need to stay for the whole two hours.

If you are a line manager, please ensure that your staff are made aware of the dates of future fora meetings and that you do what you can to facilitate them being able to attend the relevant meetings.
