Fashion designer Wayne Hemingway set to speak at University

Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of Red or Dead, to speak to students at Manchester Met event

Manchester Metropolitan University hosts an annual event, Future Talent in the Creative Industries, which brings together creative industry experts, students and academics for a day of talks, networking and competitions.

Carrying on from the success of last year’s event, featuring John Kampfner, Chief Executive of Creative Industries Federation, our 2017 keynote is Wayne Hemingway MBE.

A figurehead for business, creativity and social change, Wayne Hemingway is the successful co-founder of fashion label Red or Dead and HemingwayDesign.

From a market stall to a multi-million pound company, Wayne’s unorthodox journey of entrepreneurship through four decades in the design industry leaves audiences hungry to leave their own legacy.

Directors at leading creative agencies and organisations who will give their perspective of what it takes to make it in the industry will join Wayne in speaking at the event.

These include:

Neil Harris – Senior Relationship Manager, Arts Council

Nicky Unsworth – CEO, BJL Group

Paul Wheeler – Director of Corporate Communications, Kelloggs

Lisa Nichols, Executive Creative Director, TBWA Manchester

The event will take place on Friday 10 March 2017 09:30 – 16:30 GMT in Manchester Met’s Geoffrey Manton Building, Lecture Theatre 5.

It is hosted by the Creative Industries Cluster at Manchester Metropolitan University in association with the Manchester Publicity Association (MPA)

Competition prizes include an experience day at a creative agency and invitation to an industry awards ceremony
