The Student Financial Support team will be hosting a number of events as part of National Student Money Week (NSMW17). The theme for NSMW17 is ‘Waste Not Want Not’, and students will be able to access tips on saving money and how to reduce household and food waste in the long term. Research shows that waste not only depletes resources and leads to environmental and economic problems; it can also lead to health issues amongst people.
During NSMW17 the Student Financial Support team will be on hand with pop-up stands across the campus. Activities include a waste guessing game, a prize draw, free recipes, tasty treats and information on the services and support they provide for students.
MetMUnch, Pop Swap, the Students’ Union’s Advice Centre, OLIO and Give It Don’t Bin It, are all participating in the main event in the Business School on Tuesday 7th February. There will be a range of activities on offer, where students can learn about recycling, donating, budgeting, growing their own food and making the most of what they have.
