Laura Howard, from Central Manchester Foundation Trust (CMFT), has won the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Young Investigator 2017 award for a study entitled ‘How do events play on the mind or otherwise effect the wellbeing of Emergency Medics’. Academic support was provided, for the study, by Principal Lecturer Dr Christopher Wibberley, from the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care, and Richard Body, also of CMFT and honorary professor at the University.
Laura is about to start a PhD in the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care, and Richard Body obtained his PhD from the Faculty in 2009 (supervised by Christopher Wibberley).
Dr Araida Hidalgo-Bastida, Senior Lecturer in Regenerative Medicine, has shortlisted for the Manchester International Women’s Festival Award 2017 in the category of ‘Our Manchester Women – Intergenerational Award’ for her science communication work with young children.
The awards ceremony takes place on March 8 in Manchester Town Hall.
