First Generation is the University’s unique campaign to support talented students who are the first generation of their family to consider higher education.
The scheme will help the brightest young people to secure a place at University then provide continued support throughout their studies and into their careers.
As staff, you already do so much for the University everyday but you can do more to benefit our deserving students – there are many ways to get involved.
Whether you bake good stuff, donate good stuff, tweet good stuff or even say good stuff ‐ whatever you do, you can do good stuff for #ManMetFirstGen.
Why not join the #McrMetProud team and for a subsidised entry fee of £20, run with fellow staff, students in the Great Manchester Run on 28 May! If you haven’t a chosen charity in mind, why not run in aid of First Generation?
Graduates are also helping to transform the lives of students here and on 5 March, a team of trained students will take to the phone to to speak to alumni and ask them to support First Generation.
Our Ambassadors will ask former Manchester Metropolitan students to make a gift to, or fundraise for the campaign, and also, if they are able to volunteer their time and expertise to help students on the scheme.
Alumni will also be invited to join staff and students on the #McrMetProud team and run in aid of First Generation.
