Supporting each other in parenthood: Working Parents Network established

Working Parents Network

The University is committed to providing a supportive work environment, which includes assisting our employees to balance the demands of their jobs and personal lives.

The Working Parents Network has therefore been established to enable employees to support each other in all aspects of parenthood. It provides an informal setting within which to discuss the various challenges that are presented as children grow up; talking to others who are in the same situation is often the most powerful form of support.

Activities as part of the network will include quarterly coffee mornings for men and women at the university who have families, are about to start a family, or are thinking of having or adopting or fostering children in the future. Each coffee morning will have a specific theme and will include opportunities for discussion and networking. Members will have the opportunity to suggest, or even lead on themes or areas of discussion.
