The highly anticipated shortlists for the Teaching Awards 2017 have been revealed.
All six faculties have made it on to this year’s shortlists, featuring a total of 41 exceptional nominees from across the University.
Over 930 students nominated their excellent individuals and teams this year. Students praised staff for their “clear, constructive and enlightening feedback”, “kindness, compassion and support” and their thoughtfulness, creativity and honesty.
There are a total of ten awards, ranging from Teacher of the Year to Outstanding Innovation in Teaching. This year, categories include Best Undergraduate Supervisor and Best Postgraduate Supervisor.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Union on Tuesday 16 May.
Entries were judged anonymously against set criteria by a panel of students, Student Officers and representatives from Manchester Met’s Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.
The Teaching Awards, now in its seventh year, celebrates excellent teaching at Manchester Met. Every year, students share their stories about the individuals and teams who go out of their way to make their learning experience the best it can be – the people they think deserve to be recognised.
