Sophie Theis, Executive Assistant to the Law School, will be leaving the University for a new job at the University of Manchester School of Law.

Professor Cathy Parker and Dr Steve Millington were successful in their application to represent Business Improvement Districts (BIDS). This will drive an income of £75k p.a rising to £135k, depending on how many of the UK’s 250 BIDS join in.
Following a written application and an interview in front of 23 BID CEOs, including many of the major cities, the Institute of Place Management (IPM) was the unanimous choice to be the independent body to undertake research, provide education, training, CPD and policy work, advocacy and representation to the industry. Professor Parker said: “This is an incredible result for us – and it puts IPM and the University firmly on the world stage as the professional body for the place management industry. Our membership will grow both nationally and internationally as a result but, just as importantly, our credibility with UK policy makers will be significantly boosted now we will represent decision makers and levy payers in so many more towns and cities.”
