Student and staff members of Team #McrMetProud who joined Dawn Nisbet for a training run have been featured on BBC Sport’s Get Inspired website – which urges others to give getting healthy a go.
Dawn, the mum-of-two who shot to fame last autumn after a photograph of her finishing a Parkrun triumphantly in last place, signed up with Manchester Metropolitan University to race the Simplyhealth Great Manchester Run after seeing the University’s promotional campaign and being impressed by the First Generation campaign to help talented teenagers into higher education.
Dawn took part in a training run at the end of April with a few of the Team #McrMetProud around Hulme and part of the city centre and then spoke to journalists.
Her interview and footage of the University’s runners has been turned into a short film designed to encourage readers and viewers to take up sport in a bid to get fit.

The Great Manchester Run takes place around the roads of Manchester and Trafford on Sunday May 28 – look out for our Orange Army pounding the streets and cheer them on from the University’s dedicated cheer spot near the Skyhook sculpture in Trafford Wharf Road.
