As you may be aware during the last twelve months there have been a number of changes to University policies and processes relating to casual and sessional employment, specifically the employment of Manchester Metropolitan students. A further review of the sessional process has recently been undertaken, identifying areas for improvement within the current process.
The following improvements to the sessional employment process have been approved:
- Clear timescales established for the sessional employment process such as, deadlines identified for submitting TRSN forms for sessional employment that is due to begin on key dates, particularly the beginning of University terms
- Hiring Managers will be supported by Faculty SAS in obtaining Right to Work (RTW)
- RTW checks will take place when an individual has been identified to undertake sessional work, and in parallel with the completion of the TRSN form
- RTW documents will be scanned and stored in an efficient and consistent manner

The changes to the sessional employment process are effective from Monday 22nd May. If you are involved in the employment of sessional staff please ensure that you familiarise yourself with the new process.
