Do you have the skills and experience to Co-Chair Manchester Metropolitan University’s Equality Staff Fora?
- Do you have a commitment to equal opportunities for all staff at the University?
- Do you have the energy and drive to represent your colleagues?
If you think you can answer ‘yes’ to these questions, then we want to hear from you!
Manchester Metropolitan University has four Staff Equality Fora – Disabled Staff Forum, Gender Staff Forum, LGBT Staff Forum and the Race Staff Forum. These groups are inclusive, open to all staff, and are sub-committees of the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee (DEOC), chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
We are looking for Co-chairs for all fora who can make a real and positive contribution to progressing the equality and diversity agenda for all staff at Manchester Met.
Co-Chairing the group will provide you with lots of experience of chairing a formal University Committee and will help to develop your leadership skills and capability. You will not be alone in this position as you will share the responsibility with your fellow Co-Chair and there will be lots of regular support and guidance from the Equality and Diversity Team.
If you think you have what it takes to become an elected Co-Chair, then please write a short paragraph (no more than 200 words) about how you would contribute or what you would bring to the role and be sure to state which of the four Fora you would like to Co-Chair. The nomination period opens on Friday 2nd June 2017 and closes on Monday 26th June 2017 at 4:30pm. You can either email your nomination to firstname.lastname@example.org, or send it in a sealed envelope to the Equality and Diversity Coordinator, Room 621, All Saints Building.
When will the voting period take place?
The voting period will take place from Monday 26th June 2017 to Friday 7th July 2017 and Co-Chairs will be announced the week commencing Monday 10th July 2017.
If you would like to speak to any of the current Co-Chairs of the Equality Fora before you make a decision, please visit the Staff Equality Fora webpage for contact details or contact the E&D team on email@example.com or ext 6494.
Co-Chair Terms of Reference are available on request.
