University joins care leaver accommodation scheme

Manchester Metropolitan is now one of the universities whose students can apply to the Unite scholarship scheme.

The scheme enables care leavers and estranged students to apply for up to three years’ free accommodation in Unite halls.

A total of 28 universities, including Manchester Metropolitan, will be awarding the Unite Foundation scholarship, which provides free accommodation for three years to students fitting the criteria.  Applicants must be under 25-years of age, a care-leaver or estranged from their family, and have a place at a participating university starting in September.

Applications have closed for September but the University will be joining the scheme again next year.
