One week of bookings in and the ENGAGE week programme is certainly attracting some interest.
A lot of the craft and mindfulness session are currently fully booked or nearly fully booked, as are the walking session. However, there are still limited spaces on lots of events.
One event which could really come in useful if you travel for work meetings is the opportunity to learn more about and even have a test drive in Manchester Metropolitan’s electric cars.
Also don’t miss out on the opportunity to try out the Sugden Sports Centre totally free – remember to book an induction prior to getting your free pass. Often the best way to stay motivated when training is to go with a friend so encourage colleagues to join you and it can become a great way for a team to work together socially.
If you like to be more outdoors when you exercise we have opportunities to cycle with others and the chance to take up jogging. For the less energetic there is cinnabar palm and meditation and mindful movements.
There are also a great range of events happening at Manchester Art Gallery –only a short walk away. Events include a highlight tour, exploring mindfulness with art, working alongside an established artist to practice techniques and be creative. Or you could catch an after work evening musical performance or artist talk while socialising with friends or colleagues.
And for those of you who like to give back then the “you’re a purl” sessions give you the opportunity to learn to knit, to improve your knitting or just to knit and chat with colleagues. We have a range of patterns from easy to advanced for the innocent smoothie hats which support the Help the Aged charity.
This is just a small sample of events the full programme is available at http://www.mmu.ac.uk/staff/docs/MMU2286_Engage-week-2017-V7.pdf
