For the fifth consecutive year, the University is joining the annual Manchester Pride Parade! Plans are already underway for our entry into the parade. The theme this year is Class of 2017: The Graduation Parade.
Everyone, however they identify, is welcome to take part in our biggest and best entry yet! We are inviting staff, students, friends and family to march with us in the parade on Saturday 26th August 2017. The float takes about two hours to wind its way through the bustling Manchester streets, in one of the busiest weekends in the year.
The day itself is a great, fun day out, where staff and students from across the University come together to celebrate equality and diversity. So, whatever your identity, background, age or ability, get involved with the Graduation Parade of 2017 and make it the biggest and best the University has ever seen!
To join our entry, please book online at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/manchester-met-does-pride-2017-tickets-35175773686. It’s free to book, it just helps us know how many people will be joining us.
If you have any enquiries or are interested in helping with the design and decoration of our parade float please contact either of the Pride Co-Chairs: Andy Pilkington (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Craig Thompson (email@example.com).
Hope to see you there!
