In July, the 2017 Staff Survey results were shared across the University and some key findings of the survey included:
- Team working and personal development at the University scored positively
- Employee engagement is in line with other higher education benchmarks
- Preparing staff for change required greater focus
Since the results were published in the summer, colleagues across the University have been exploring the results in detail, local activities are starting to take shape and the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee (DEOC) are taking actions forward following the equality data.
Listening and working with colleagues to help improve the staff experience at Manchester Metropolitan is always a priority and over the next few weeks we will be hosting ‘world cafe’ style events to explore some of the key themes of the survey; which will help inform the University-wide action plan.
‘World cafe’ events encourage sharing improvement ideas in a relaxed environment and this provides us with a great platform to shape the development of our action plans together.
In addition to the events, there will be further opportunities for colleagues to contribute to action planning over the coming months with activities across our Faculties and departments.

The ‘world cafe’ events will be taking place on the dates below, please be aware places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
