Following a successful pilot, we are pleased to announce that Lecture Capture will be running in the majority of medium and large lecture theatres across Manchester Metropolitan from September 2018.
The implementation of Lecture Capture will contribute to Manchester Met’s ambition of enhancing our digital learning and teaching capabilities and improving engagement with our students.
The system will capture the projector output and audio in lectures and, if the Unit Leader has opted in, it will automatically publish the recording to Moodle for students to access, allowing them to revisit the lecture to support their independent learning.
To ensure the system delivers the best user experience, a pilot was conducted across 14 locations within the Faculty of Business and Law, where over 1000 students and 70 staff members were invited to share their opinions about Lecture Capture and shape what an ideal system would look like.
Working closely with Information Systems and Digital Services (ISDS) and Centre of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), this feedback has been successfully incorporated into the Lecture Capture system ready for the start of the 2018/9 academic year.
